We bought a property in May! In the house I’ve been renting for 3 years in Canberra, everything aligned and while we were looking for somewhere to buy, the owners of our rental wanted to sell. Can’t believe it. Other than that, I’ve achieved some of my major goals with my personal training business! May was an awesome month of progress!
In early 2022 I developed a set of goals that I’m aiming to achieve this year – you can see this post here. Like last year, this is separated into categories like Finances/Wealth and more.

FINANCIAL/WEALTH
Reach a Net Worth of $250,000
- At 1 June 2022, my net worth was $130,642.77 including property, and $72,642.77 excluding property.
- The share market is still quite volatile but now that everything is done with the property, I can start making regular contributions to investing and building it back up to it’s prior glory.
- You can see a breakdown of my net worth below:

Grow Investment Portfolio to $100,000
- At 1 June 2022, my investment portfolio was $17,990.35.
- As mentioned above, now that the property stuff is out of the way I can get back to normal investing. Unfortunately due to this huge change it’s almost like I’m starting from zero again – exciting but also know that now that I’m 28 I’ve got 12 years to become financially independent 😛 and now I need to invest more per month than before.
- I’m happy with holdings I hold – I’m quite diversified and only investing in things I will continue investing in over the next 20 years.
Grow House Deposit to $60,000 – ACHIEVED
- Completed in March 2022 (as shown in above net worth table).

Employ 5 Personal Trainers – ACHIEVED
- Achieved in May 2022!
- After advertising for personal trainers in May in all major cities, I’ve managed to bring on 2 trainers who are ready to go so I’m looking for clients for them! Goal achieved!
- Currently I’ve got 5 PTs employed (3 in Canberra, 1 in Melbourne, 1 in Queensland).
Reach $20,000 in Revenue by 30 June 2022 – ACHIEVED
- Achieved in May 2022!
- In May, revenue was $3,975!
- With this revenue in May, I’ve managed to achieve my financial year goal of $20,000! This brings it to $21,746 with still a month to go!
- 2021-22 financial year revenue is now $21,746.
- Thinking about my 2022 calendar year revenue, I originally had a goal of $40,000 but that wasn’t high enough to inspire me as I’m pretty certain this will be achieved. I’ve raised this to $80,000 to really push myself and get motivated to reach it.
- 2022 calendar year revenue is $16,321.
New Goal: Reach $80,000 in Revenue by 31 December 2022
- As mentioned above, I originally had a goal of $40,000 but now that I’ve achieved my goal above I thought I’d separate this into it’s own goal.
- 2022 calendar year revenue is $16,321.
Complete a Minimum of 3 Training Courses to Gain New Skills and Improve Knoweldge
- I’ve finally finished my Fundamentals of Kettlebells video and with that I’ve completed the course.
- I’ve started doing a Pelvic Floor Program run through MoveU. I’m about half way through this course now.
- Currently I’m thinking if there is a business course or selling course I can find I may look into that and pay for it prior to financial year.
Obtain 10 Testimonials from Clients
- At the start of June, my total testimonials is now 6!
- After creating a few running programs for clients, they have provided me a great recommendation and testimonial which was great to see.

Do a Minimum of 5 30-Day Challenges
- So far I’ve only completed 1 30-day challenge (Kettlebell workouts)
Publish all Previous and 2022 30-Day Challenges on my Website and YouTube Channel.
- No 30-day challenge videos or blog posts posted in April.
- I’m still very focused on my PT business and I’m enjoying my time off after everything is done. At this stage I want to spend more time focused on the PT business and grow it.
- I enjoy making videos, but given I way up early to train clients, usually by 9pm I’m ready for bed haha.
Maintain a Minimum of 60% Average Viewer Retention for Each Video Published in 2022
- No 30-day challenge videos posted for 2022.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT / OTHER
Reach a Rating of 850 on Disc Golf Metrix and PDGA – ACHIEVED
- Completed in May 2022!
- Disc Golf Metrix rating is 850.
- PDGA rating is 860.
- See below for a graph of my rating over time.

NEW GOAL – Run a Half-Marathon in Under 1:45:00
- Race day is September 18th!
- During May I logged 27 days of activity, and I’ve been running consistently. I’ve created my own running program and I’m following that as best as I can. I’ve getting about 3-4 runs in per week at this stage and it’s going well.
EXPERIENCES
Below are the experiences I would like to have during 2022. I’ll probably add to this list if I can think of anything interesting and new that I would like to do:
- Go on a multi-day hike (nothing scheduled yet)
- Go cycle touring (nothing scheduled yet)
- Complete an obstacle course event (e.g., Spartan) – COMPLETE! In April, my partner and I completed the Spartan NSW Trifecta event – we did a 5km, 20 obstacle course and it was really good!
- Attend a CrossFit class – COMPLETE! I’ve been doing CrossFit for a number of weeks now and I love it!
- Attend a Jiu Jitsu class (nothing scheduled yet – a bit hesitant due to COVID).
That’s my update for May 2022. As mentioned above I made some really good progress on some of my goals and achieved some others!
Focus Areas for June:
- Investing more into my ASX portfolio!
- Gaining more clients and trainers for Nathan’s Mobile PT.
- Spending less money on random stuff 😛
How have you been going with your goals?
